A pile of vintage clothing is made available to the public, invited to take one item in exchange for another that they are wearing at that moment. A few simple rules circumscribe the modalities of this exchange that must happen on one’s own skin. Second Skin is a performative device that triggers a reflection on the traces of experience we leave through clothing and the dynamics of ownership and identification we establish with them. Hannes Egger isolates this instant, encodes its gestures and highlights them with the essentiality and sharpness of his performative language, which here confronts the vintage market system, explored during a residency at Lottozero in Prato and investigated as a phenomenon of economic history of the last fifty years.
Completing the exhibition project is a collection of found objects, retrieved from the pockets of clothes then placed in the vintage circuit: concretions of past lives that tell by fragments personal stories and social habits, testifying how much the garment is, essentially, a vector of existences.

Un mucchio di abiti vintage viene messo a disposizione del pubblico, invitato a prendere un capo in cambio di un altro che sta indossando in quel momento. Poche semplici regole circoscrivono le modalità di questa permuta che deve accadere sulla propria pelle. Second Skin è un dispositivo performativo che innesca una riflessione sulle tracce di vissuto che lasciamo attraverso gli indumenti e sulle dinamiche di appropriazione e identificazione che instauriamo con essi. Hannes Egger isola questo istante, ne codifica i gesti e li evidenzia con l’essenzialità e la nitidezza del suo linguaggio performativo, che qui si confronta con il sistema di mercato del vintage, approfondito durante un periodo di residenza a Lottozero a Prato e indagato come fenomeno di storia economica degli ultimi cinquant’anni.
Completa il progetto espositivo una collezione di oggetti trovati, recuperati nelle tasche di abiti poi immessi nel circuito del vintage: concrezioni di vite passate che raccontano per frammenti storie personali e costumi sociali, a testimonianza di quanto l’indumento sia, essenzialmente, un vettore di esistenze.

Ein Stapel Altkleider wird dem Publikum zur Verfügung gestellt, das eingeladen ist, eiin Kleidungsstück gegen eines welches sie gerade trägt einzutauschen. Die Modalitäten dieses Austauschs – der auf der eigenen Haut stattfinden muss – wird durch diese einfache Regeln festgelegt. Second Skin ist ein performative Situation, welche eine Reflexion über die Spuren der Erfahrung, die wir durch Kleidung hinterlassen, und die Dynamik der Aneignung und Identifikation, die wir mit ihnen herstellen, auslöst. Hannes Egger isoliert diesen Moment, kodifiziert die Gesten und unterstreicht sie mit der Wesentlichkeit und Klarheit seiner performativen Sprache. Er konfrontiert sich mit dem System des Vintage-Marktes, das er während eines Aufenthalts im Lottozero in Prato erforscht und als Phänomen der Wirtschaftsgeschichte der letzten fünfzig Jahre untersucht hat.
Das Ausstellungsprojekt wird durch eine Sammlung von Fundstücken vervollständigt, die in den Taschen von Kleidern gefunden wurden die auf dem Vintage-Markt landeten: Artefakte vergangener Leben, die in Fragmenten persönliche und soziale Geschichten erzählen, sowie davon zeugen, dass Kleidung im Wesentlichen eine Spur von Existenzen ist.
