Studio

The studio building 22a is located in the historic centre of Lana (BZ – Italy). On its west façade, the three-storey building faces a small square surrounded by charming historical buildings. Wassily Kandinsky captured the building in a view of the town during a stay in 1909.
The two upper floors of the house were renovated and made habitable about ten years ago as an internal construction, a house within a house. The ground floor, originally used as a workshop, was reclaimed as a studio by Messner Architects in a second construction project.
