Sonderausstellung in Kloster Marienberg, kuratiert von Hannes Egger
Wer sind und waren die Menschen im Kloster Marienberg? Welche Personen haben und hatten mit dem Stift zu tun?
Die Besucherin und Besucher sind persönlich zu einem Zwiegespräch mit diesen Menschen eingeladen, deren persönliche Objekte Ihnen ganz eigene Geschichten erzählen.
Das Lateinische res bedeutet soviel wie Ding oder Sache. Die „res cognitans“ ist das denkende Ding und die „res extensa“ das ausgedehnte Ding. Durch diese Begriffe unterschied der Philosoph René Descartes am Seienden eine denkende (Geist, Seele) und eine ausgedehnte (Materie, Leib) Substanz.
Person hingegen leitet sich vom Lateinischen persona ab und meinte ursprünglich „Maske oder Rolle des Schauspielers“. Schon seit dem späten Altertum bezeichnet „persona“ den Einzelnen in seiner menschlichen Eigenart, also insofern er nicht nur Naturorganismus ist. Dieser Einzelne unterscheidet sich immer schon von anderen Einzelnen: Zu jedem Ich gehört ein Du. Seien Sie dieses Du und lassen Sie sich von den persönlichen Dingen der Menschen ansprechen!

Chi sono o chi sono state le persone legate all‘abbazia di Monte Maria?
I visitatori e le visitatrici sono invitati a un dialogo con loro! I loro oggetti personali ne narrano la storia e le vicende. La parola latina res significa oggetto o cosa. La „res cogitans“ è la cosa pensante, la „res extensa“ è tutto ciò che è estensione materiale. Con questi concetti il filosofo Cartesio distingue la sostanza pensante (spirito, anima) dalla sostanza estesa (corpo, materia).
Con la parola persona i latini designavano invece la maschera portata in scena dagli attori, mentre a partire dalla tarda antichità persona inizia ad essere usato nel senso di individuo unico ed irripetibile, quindi al di là della sua natura prettamente organica. Ogni singolo individuo si differenzia da tutti gli altri: dove c‘è un io c‘è sempre un tu. Siate questo „tu“ e lasciate che queste persone vi parlino attraverso i loro effetti personali!

Who are (and who were) the people in the Marienberg Abbey? Who are (and who were) the persons involved?
The visitors are invited to get in touch with them! Their personal belongings tell their own peculiar stories.
The Latin term „res“ means „object“ or „thing“. The „res cogitans“ is the mental substance and the „res extensa“ the extended material substance. With these concepts, the philosopher Descartes made a famous ontological distinction between the thinking substance (mind, soul) and the extended substance (body, matter).
The word „person“, however, derives from the Latin term persona, which originally designated the “mask” and a role staged by actors. From late antiquity on, the term person was used to describe the individual in its human singularity and uniqueness, well beyond its pure organic nature. Every individual is – by definition – different from all others: That implies, though, that for every “I” there is a “You”. Dear visitor, let these long-gone people speak to you through their remnants!
