Silent Border in the Middle of No Man’s Land

Hannes Egger, Silent Border in the Middle of No Man’s Land, 2019

Silent Border in the Middle of No Man’s Land, created for the 14th Bienal de Curitiba, is a collection of nine audio-instructions inspired by topics such as the delimitation, the tracing of borders and their management, their crossing and cancellation, traffic and cross-border trade. The installation consists of several everyday objects and associated stereo headphones, used to instruct the use of the former. During the performance, the public finds itself acting in the “no man’s land” between the objects.
